SCREEN PRINTING

The screen printing process involves printing one colour at a time so each additional colour adds to the overall cost. For each colour an additional screen is needed therefore a design with four colours in it would require four screens. This makes this process uneconomical if only a small run of garments is required.

Call us for a quote at 0141 772 5544 or email [email protected] We have price breaks at quantities of 50, 100, 200 and 500. Should you require more than 500 we will happily produce a bespoke quote for you. Garment styles can be combined to make up the quantities as long as the print colour/design remains the same.

TYPES OF SCREEN PRINTING INK – POINTS TO PONDER…

PLASTISOL

Plastisol inks are not water-soluble. The ink is composed of PVC particles suspended in a plasticising emulsion, and will not dry if left in the screen for extended periods. Because of the convenience of not needing to wash a screen after printing, plastisol inks can be used without a source of running water. Plastisol inks are recommended for printing on coloured fabric. On lighter fabric, plastisol is extremely opaque and can retain a bright image for many years with proper care.

Water based inks are popular mostly because of ethical reasons. The Soil Association has approved water based inks on the basis that they offer a better, healthier alternative over oils and PVC products. They also feel softer than plastisol prints.

Our transfers are produced using the latest printing technologies and we offer a huge variety of transfers, depending on your design and the quantities you require. We are happy to order stock for you and warehouse it here until it’s needed for your next order.

When printing onto white shirts they will give an almost ‘invisible to the touch’ effect as the pigment soaks into the fibres of the garment while the water dries or evaporates during the curing process.

TRANSFER PRINTING

Our transfers are produced using the latest printing technologies and we offer a huge variety of transfers, depending on your design and the quantities you require. We are happy to order stock for you and warehouse it here until it’s needed for your next order.

We recommend using a transfer when going onto sport garments, Lycra, breathable fabrics, sports bags, umbrellas and other items. The transfer will stretch and flex with the garment and can be tumble dried.
